Searching for oral surgery in Lynnwood, WA? Our experienced team provides trusted oral & maxillofacial surgery near you with personalized care and lasting results.
Are you dealing with impacted wisdom teeth, severe facial pain, or an underlying bite misalignment that requires specialized care?
While general dentistry focuses on maintaining the health, function, and aesthetics of your teeth and gums, certain complex conditions require advanced surgical expertise. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a highly specialized branch of dentistry dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and surgically correcting complex structural issues, injuries, and diseases affecting the mouth, teeth, jaws, and facial structures.
At Crosspoint Dental Center, we understand that facing oral or facial surgery can feel overwhelming. Dr. Luke Daining and our specialized restorative team provide advanced diagnostic evaluations and coordinate expert surgical interventions, ensuring you receive the highest international standard of compassionate, streamlined care right here in Lynnwood.
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a dental specialist who possesses elite, advanced training far beyond standard clinical practices. This discipline is one of only nine elite dental specialties recognized internationally and by the American Dental Association (ADA).To achieve this designation, a specialist must complete:
This rigorous training equips them to confidently manage everything from minor tooth extractions to complex, emergency facial reconstructions under various levels of advanced anesthesia.
Oral and maxillofacial specialists deal with a wide variety of conditions, treatments, and procedures on a daily basis to restore full function, structural alignment, and cosmetic harmony to your smile and face:
Safely removing third molars or hidden teeth that are trapped beneath the gumline or growing at dangerous angles.
Surgically anchoring permanent titanium tooth roots deep into the jawbone to replace missing teeth securely.
Treating chronic jaw joint pain, clicking, and locked jaws, or repairing facial bones following severe trauma or injury.
Structurally repositioning the upper or lower jaw to correct severe bite overbites, underbites, and chewing difficulties.
Performing screenings, removing abnormal growths, and executing biopsies to catch oral pathologies early.
Surgically opening airway passages to resolve life-threatening sleep apnea, or surgically repairing congenital cleft lips and palates.
Performing advanced root-tip surgeries to save a natural tooth when standard root canal therapies fail.
Whether your general dentist has referred you to our practice, you are experiencing painful symptoms causing you concern, or you simply want an expert second opinion on a complex jaw issue, Crosspoint Dental Center is here to help. Our modern office proudly serves families throughout Lynnwood, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Bothell, and Mill Creek, located conveniently on the West side of 33rd Avenue between the Virginia Mason and PEMCO Insurance buildings.
While many of our patients are directly referred to our Lynnwood office by their general dentist due to an identified issue on a routine X-ray, a referral is not strictly necessary. If you are experiencing unexplained jaw clicking, severe facial pain, notice an unusual lump or sore inside your mouth, or simply have questions about wisdom teeth extractions, you are always welcome to contact us directly to schedule an initial diagnostic check.
A simple extraction is performed on a tooth that is fully visible above the gumline, allowing it to be gently loosened and removed using standard dental instruments under local numbing blocks. A surgical extraction is required if the tooth has fractured off at the gumline, has complex curved roots, or is completely impacted beneath the bone (like many wisdom teeth). This involves making a tiny incision in the gums to carefully access and safely remove the tooth structure.
Patient comfort and safety are our absolute highest priorities. Depending on the complexity of your surgical treatment plan and your personal anxiety levels, options range from standard local numbing injections (which keep you awake but completely pain-free) to mild nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral conscious sedation, or deep intravenous (IV) sedation where you sleep peacefully through the entire process. We will thoroughly review your health history and customize your anesthesia plan during your pre-operative visit.
Our greatest achievement is seeing patients leave our office with healthier smiles, renewed confidence, and peace of mind knowing their dental health is in caring hands.
